Why Do We Still Listen?
A lie told often enough, becomes the truth. — Vladimir Lenin
How would you feel about your husband if he lied to you 8 times a day?
If your child, in the course of a normal day, lied to you 8 times about school, his friends, if he’s using drugs, what would you do?
When thinking of asking your girlfriend to marry you, if you found out that she lied 8 times about her past, where she was born, that her parents were dead … would you still trust her enough to ask?
Lies are often the inability to tell the truth or the knowing disregard of it for personal gain.
Since being in office as the President of the United States, Donald Trump has lied on average 8 times per day; over 240 times per month on every conceivable subject from the size of a crowd attending a rally, to the actual purpose of a single phone call.
He has lied with such consistency and fluency that many of us laugh and consider it endearing. That he is a man of the people, just like one of us.
Well, is he just like you?
Imagine if traffic lights lied to us and showed green instead of the appropriate red. How many would be harmed?
Imagine if doctors lied and said we were fine, when we weren’t. That we were sick…
