Americans are susceptible to extremes. We can't seem to live in the center of anything. Someone is a hero or they're a criminal. They brought a gun 50 miles to protect property that wasn't theirs - so they're a patriot.
It's all bullshit. People use extremes to justify their own lack of ability to think things through. To be responsible for the world around them.
Americans are proud and feisty and believe they are invincible. But in truth elements of what makes America what it is has been eroding for decades. Slowly disappearing while everyone looks at the "fireworks" created to distract them.
Lies become truth, because the real truth is that we let shit happen. We elected people who worked for others. We turned a blind eye too often, because we were paid to do so through "tax breaks" and other incentives that were first taken from us and then given back with pomp and ceremony.
Kyle Rittenhouse killed two people because he could. Because it made him feel better about himself. And now parts of America are ready to erect a statue in his honor.
America is losing her ability to think and it's desperately sad to watch it happen.
We need to wake the f**k up. Think America. While we still can.
