Appreciate the words.
Writing has often been portrayed or talked about as an activity unlike any others. Don’t compare writing with pipe fittings or baking — not the same. Writing is creative, artistic — pipe fitting is craft.
Not so. I’ve met extremely dedicated and creative bakers who sit with a cup of coffee at 3 in the morning, thinking about how to use pecans instead of walnuts for the sour cream danish.
How writing is different, is that at the beginning there is nothing there. A sheet of white paper, a pen lying next to it. Without you — there is no movement, no words, no story. It’s daunting and incredibly cathartic.
Again, appreciate the words. 😉
