Back in the day - well, before the Internet was everywhere, there used to be people that sold lists. I think Socrates sold lists as a side hustle. Being a philosopher didn't pay all that well. Anyway back to my point.
People sold lists. Lists on where to buy things that could then be resold for a profit. Lists of publications that accepted articles and stories for good money. On and on.
People made far more money selling the lists than selling their writing.
Medium is getting there. Top writers selling courses. Medium tier writers writing articles by the score on how to write well on Medium. And there it goes.
I think Medium already closely resembles a giant bazaar more than a great library. Oh well.
