Cheating isn’t a byproduct of a failing relationship; no more than a nail in a tire is a byproduct of poor design. We too often point the finger at marriage, or partnerships and their inherently poor design or impossible standards to uphold. Horseshit. Cheating has everything to do with the ethical standards we apply to ourselves. We either hold ourselves accountable for promises made, or we own up, face the fact that a mistake was made, and exit honorably. There’s far more pain to be had by everyone when we don’t do this. Personal responsibility is a bitch. But what’s the alternative?
