Didn't I see the myth of Medusa portrayed in a TV commercial a few months back? Sure of it. Guy at the bar, leering a little too hard at one of the ladies at a table. So she took off her sunglasses off and had a look, turning him to stone. They all laughed.
Funny what we think of as funny and entertaining.
I guess if the stories back then were written by women, Medusa would have been an ex-Olympian who cheated at the games and was made to look like a bull with rabbit ears.
The moral of the story: Men like being held as heroes even when they're not acting like one.
