Disagree with this statement 100%. Focus on the red/blue divide if you must until we’re all blinded by partisan politics. But underneath all this window dressing are Americans. And I have to believe they would see the difference when someone steps forward and says, I was wrong. I supported someone I shouldn’t have. The belief that a republican can only vote for a republican and only see republican ideals and only feel for a republican America is absurd.

The next time you are looking for a referral, for say a new roof, and receive 10,000 detailed resumes touting how good and great they are, how they know your neighbors, how they vote like you vote, how they respect what you respect, think about how tough it is to make a reasonably, well-informed decision. That’s how Americans feel every single day about politics and people.

At what time in American history, has influencing the American voters been as easy and potentially cataclysmic as it is today? The founding fathers had broadsheets to contend with, handed out like leaflets. We have Facebook, Twitters, Instagram, the Internet, 1 billion amateur pundits and enough money (thanks to Citizens United) to fund every ill-conceived and self-serving agenda we can shake the proverbial stick at.

Just believe it can change and eventually, if we do it long enough and hard enough, it will.
