Elizabeth was real. She was a woman & mother first who was made a queen. And she held onto that. She was gracious and flawed, honest and made mistakes like all of us do - but she always seemed to realize that and tried to change. At least it appeared that way from all the way over here in California.

The rest of the royals just seemed like a supporting cast - she was the star. What's next? Not sure. The monarchy is a brand - even if we dislike that characterization. Without the Queen - I don't know. Kind of like McDonalds without the golden arches or Big Mac. Wait & see I guess.
