Excellent piece, George.
I think what's happening is that shame, fear, truth and other concepts are constantly being redefined.
What was relevant 20 years ago, is "obviously" no longer relevant (and therefore nothing to worry about) because it doesn't mean the same thing anymore, so, what's the problem?
A lie has been downgraded to creative thinking, so eventually nothing is a lie.
The truth, which was once associated with What Is - is now flexible, fluid and merely an extension of one's opinion and personality.
Soon when we drive up to a classic red STOP sign, what we'll actually read is -
STOP - SLOW - it's up to you.
It's classic propaganda spin. Make the lie a truth and a truth the lie. It worked in the past, so, why not.
But it never lasted. Lies take tremendous effort to maintain the false reality. The solution is to keep applying truth to it.
