Excellent question, John. The answer is no one. Our original Can Do attitude, which got this country through so much, has morphed into something completely different. Something like: Don’t tell me how to think — even if I’m totally wrong.

The mechanism that got Americans to eat fast food and Capt Crunch cereal and think it’s good for us, is the same one that gets us thinking we HAVE to have guns.
