From my perspective, one of the problems with understanding white privilege is that it tends to be invisible.

The job that you were not denied because of color. The times you were not stopped while out driving. The times you were not denied entrance into a hall, museum, restaurant, because of how you looked or dressed.

So when asked - do you have or believe in white privilege - the answer is generally a look of uncertainty. A fear of giving the wrong answer, but also, of not really understanding the question. What does privilege actually look like?

When I started reading your article, I thought -- it's because he's a man and she's a woman. After all most HRs, if not manned by men, were originally created in their likeness and tend to forward the same old sh*t. Not always -- thankfully - but it does seem that way at times.

I've been in the work place for 45 years. Had many male bosses/owners. About 80% of them were rough hewn and inflexible. Also had a number of women bosses/owners. 80% were reasonable and accepting. So what does this math tell me?

Enjoyed your article.
