Have to admit, when you named the author, I couldn't think of one book he wrote - had to Google him. Never read any of his books. Not sure why.

About his personality, I'd say, of the 10 most arrogant people I've met in my lifetime - about 2 of them had the right to be. The other 8 bolstered their egos with arrogant chatter.

I guess I should read one of his novels, so I know for sure.
