Have you ever driven down a highway and found yourself behind a diesel truck, belching black smoke, fouling the air, all the while launching scores of projectiles at unsuspecting cars behind them?

Now, do you recall any of the well-maintained, clean burning trucks driving right along side them? Didn’t think so. It’s hard to stay focused.

I think we fixate on and are influenced by the religiously inflexible or politically inflexible, because that is their intention. To drown out every other message that disagrees with theirs. This same “method of communication” applies to governments, corporations and everything else with a desire to be first in people’s minds, first in marketing, first in the quarterly budget reports.

The author noted: Christianity is so good at making non-believers look like the enemy.

Not just Christianity in my opinion.

40+ years ago a “study” came out that lambasted Saccharine, calling it the worst chemical on planet Earth. That it caused cancer in rats and should be banned. It did cause cancer as I recall, because small rats weighing ounces, were plied with enough of the stuff to kill a Zebra. The study was funded by the sugar industry.

Look behind the rhetoric. Look to see who gains from the message being delivered.

There are good Christians and good Muslims and good Atheists. Along with good everyone else. It’s inherent upon the good to be vocal and demand equal time or we’ll all suffer the fate that seems to piss us all off. Becoming irrelevant.

Happy Holidays.
