As I said, some Boomers were shits. I watched my older friends return from Vietnam, beaten up and changed. And when asked what was it like, or what’s going on — almost one for one, they just shook their heads and walked away. These were the first-hand accounts of what was happening — not what was on the news.

And it was unfortunate that those carrying signs of protest (for all the right reasons) put the responsibility for the whole mess on the soldiers — made no sense then, still doesn’t. Not like they all got together and voted that Vietnam was their next priority.
