Medium and Tony in particular remind me of the seemingly kind-hearted parents who are telling their children that moving from California to Papua New Guinea is really not such a long way - that travel is relative and to focus on all the wonderful new experiences they'll have on the other side of the world. Ignoring all the while, the blank stares, looks of incredulity and plaintive cries as the kids grab sticks with which to beat them.

Medium is changing - "they" know it because they're making the changes but are too busy showing us Jazz hands and happy faces to realize that no one believes their explanations. It's kind of sad and funny - in that old-fashioned non-amusing sort of way.
