On these Donor Advised Funds - do I understand this correctly that these funds are still "under the control" on the donor? You made it sound like a hole is grandma's bedroom floor where goodies are stashed and retrived after the grandkids leave.

Is that the case?

I'm beginning to understand more clearly why so many readers on Medium run to articles like:

2 of the Hardest Things I ever Had to Do - and Why I Didn't Do Them?

...because the truth on what is actually happening "out there" is painful. Like those effing flashes from the paparazzi that make the celebrities look like Bambi in a spotlight.

I appreciate what this article is saying, while I peel myself up off the floor and reach for a Kleenex.
