Hey William -- there are certain topics that "sell" a lot better than others. Those topics are popular. They tend to be about dating, loss of jobs, loss of romance/relationships/friendships, lack of sex and so forth. And while I understand the attraction, (I do) I tend to not be interested in them for a variety of reasons. Mostly because I am old enough to have had to address these issues 30 years ago, so I am past needing immediate advice.

I find a lot of these article to be derivative. You can still see some of the original source material coming through the sentences, but the message has been revised, updated and regenerated many times over. And yet - it sells.

Disheartening? Sure. Frustrating? You bet. But what to do about it is the question.

I'm not sure. The answer may be to write like them. Or write what feels good and meaningful. Or venture to a point somewhere in between.

I am waiting for the Mystics to visit Medium and declare the problem solved.

I'll let you know when I find out. 😁👍
