I have a feeling that most of those reading this article were born on or around the time I stopped dating. So, a lot of these "issues" leave me shaking my head and wondering WTF happened to conversation, curiosity and the discipline needed to step out of one's head - at least long enough to finish dinner.

There's far too much thinking, planning, side-checking and second guessing going on in this endeavor. I am surprised the birth rate hasn't fallen below replacement levels.

Not sure what the perfect date looks like, I'm certain I've never met one - including myself.

But I do agree on the whole education thing - intellect and intelligent conversation are not joined at the hip. I live near JPL/NASA and I can attest there are quite a few people who can plot the route to Mars on a napkin but find asking someone a delicate question a life-threatening experience.

For a moment just contemplate this phrase - Dating App. There are Apps to find the nearest gas station, a vendor selling Barbie accessories, and locating a missing ferret - fine sure, why not. But an App to categorize one's attributes, foibles and questionable choices and using an algorithm to rearrange them into a pleasing profile seems all wrong. Perhaps this is where things should change. Other than that, what do I know. Good article though.
