I learned a lesson 50 years ago that I try to apply to Medium today. I worked for a non-profit and was trying to sell a cool booklet (designed by an artist/cartoonist) about our group to raise funds. I found a mailing list and wrote and mailed out about 1000 letters. After a week or two, the orders started rolling in. Mostly from people Not On The List.

I had to think about that for a while. The Universe rewards communication. Communicate honestly. Comment liberally and with a kind heart. And follow the other tips that you listed out.

I quarrel with myself about how much to write and what to write about - but the above experience always comes back to me. It worked then and has again since. It only stops working when I lose sight of it.
