I love it when words are used to elicit a response from that part of the brain where reason and logic reside. Well done.
I love to laugh - as often as I can - but I dislike about 95% of all comedy that I come in contact with. Can't watch sit-coms because of the laugh tracks - fake. I just don't find much of it funny, amusing, informative or enlightening. (I'm open to any number of ways for it to get into my mind - it just has to make me laugh.) But I am just one person with one opinion - my own. Same for Dave Chappelle. I confess, I did not watch the Closer, but have watched enough of Dave in the past to know that he's often funny and on point and often observational and not funny. It takes a stellar comedian and person to walk the fine line between making us laugh (often at ourselves) and educating us about something we shouldn't be doing or saying.
Maybe what Dave did for the Trans community is point out that a lot more communication, understanding and compassion is still needed. Not a bad outcome for 72 minutes.
