I spent 4 years living in the UK in the '70s and I walked away feeling great about the place.
But there were things that were "interesting."
Didn't care for the "British" foods overall, though quality was good. Loved the bread. The sweets were TOO sweet which was saying something. In the '70s, the Brits were never in a home that was too cold. I froze my ass off for years. Heating systems were still from the '40s. Loved the people, the towns and most everything else. But I could easily lock into the downside to living there. I chose not to. I think people do that here. Get into comparing and let's face it - Home will always be better, safer, friendlier, etc.
