I spent the better part of my afternoon, making dinner, reading a book, and talking with the missus — all in an effort to shake the blues that was twining its way around me and casting long shadows about my day.

Today, I wrote nothing, felt nothing, except the same thoughts echoing inside my head, drowning out my own attempts at being more upbeat.

As much as I am connected to so many great writers on Illumination, the writing itself is done in my office, on my own, with the ghosts of half-completed stories, whirling about the room. The rabbit hole was looking awfully inviting, but then this line came whizzing past and there was your article with all those amazing quotes. It’s just what I needed.

The hole is closed. The thoughts have subsided and I’m feeling more my old self again. I owe you an espresso and chocolate cannoli, Paul.
