I started writing children's stories in 1980. Got about 150-200 rejections - maybe less, but it sure seemed like that many - then finally published a few stories in national magazines. It felt great - a real high for a while. Then I went off that path and started writing screenplays and teleplays and spelunked that rabbit hole for several years.
Medium is a fix. Instant gratification with a side of dismay, when 7 people read your article.
But we carry on. You make a valid point though, Dawn, branch out, reach out, step outside your comfort zone and breathe deep - there's more out there. Cheers.
