I thought this article to be to the point, logical and persuasive. From reading many comments below, a lot of others disagree.

I wonder, how many actions have we taken in our lives? How many decisions have we made to change or get something accomplished that we didn't do before? How many times have we turned away or been turned away by frustration and resistance to change - just in our own lives, our own sphere of influence? How many times have we failed?

To look at one man, one person and heap so much responsibility upon them for what they did not accomplish seem wrong to me.

What did we expect one person to do - even the President? Don't get me wrong, I have my short list. My disappointments. But I have no regrets in voting for the man - twice. He did what he did - which I am grateful for. He didn't do what he had intended - you mean, like many of us?

But in truth he accomplished a great deal in small acts done without names, without headlines. Acts done by a good man of color that now don't have to be done again to convince others, it could be done in the first place. Stripping the blindfolds off that false and fixed idea, was well worth his time in office. That's progress with a small "p" perhaps by some people's standards, but progress nonetheless.

He did a great deal to change the way others think and act - at least I see it that way. He also brought to the surface what we are seeing today. The truth about racism in America. It started in earnest when he was elected and has continued in full view, so everyone could see its ugliness and refusal to go quietly. We owe him for that as well.

So, all in all, a job well done. Not an A+. More a strong "B", all things considered. There's been many times in my life where I would have liked to come out of a situation with a B.
