If some of us actually recorded our own conversations each day and then listened to them - we'd be surprise at how many sentence fragments we use. How we forget verbs or use the wrong ones - even during formal business meetings. We expect our writing to be of a much higher caliber, because we generally have the time to edit what we're saying. So, if a 600 word article has one typo in it - that's pretty good.

The same people who mention your typos and make a point of it - are those that immediately point out the small stain on your tie. It's in their nature to criticize. More the pity - they may actually have some good things to say - if they ever tried. Cheers
