When I first started using the Trams at Las Vegas airport, I felt a little weird. Even though they weren't traveling far - there were no drivers. All automated. When the doors didn't open right away, I wondered if I was now stuck in one of them.
Medium's algorithms seem benevolent and geared towards user experience. Call me jaded, but I have my suspicions that profit may have something to do with its frequent eccentricities. Just saying.
