I’m not sure what Jung would say about me … we’d probably get along, but I’m sure I am slotted somewhere on some scale.

My day job is going into strangers’ homes every single day and attending to their plumbing situation. Usually bad leaks, damaged floors and other issues that challenge us under normal conditions. Well, I’m obviously not doing that at the moment, but I miss it. I like helping people. I like meeting new people, hearing their stories … yes, not just the plumbing woes, and seeing what I can do to sort things out.

I’ve been doing this for years and it’s been a therapy for me. I get to interact with different cultures, different languages, and delve into how people think. It’s made me more empathetic and understanding. It also put me in a position where I was able to immediately control the problem. Not so much today … so it feels like a step down.

So my heartbreak is a loss of interaction. A diminishing of my ability to “be in charge.” But it’s okay, really. I’m getting by. With your help, with all of your help.

You good at this shit, Julia, thank you. 😉
