Terrorists are just as effective in creating mayhem - if their intended target believes there's a bomb hidden, whether there is one or not. It's the potential for damage and chaos that creates fear.

In my opinion it was a terrorist act. They wanted to create fear, to do damage, to play soldier, to do harm (to people and/or a system), to believe they could make a difference. They were a kaleidoscope of bad ideas and bad intentions - given a blessing by a man who simply doesn't care about anyone or anything.

We see Scarface and Hitler as sociopaths - Trump simply wears better clothes.

Trump is an idiot of the first water - but he isn't stupid. His "genius" is in playing people. Manipulating them by finding out what they fear, what they need, what they grieve for and employing lies and deceit to bring about the result he wants.

Trump may be a buffoon - but he is a frightening one. Not him as a person but as a prototype.
