Interesting article. Man likes to think of himself as being above - far above - the other species. You know, all the others that just think about - food, safety and procreation.

But we all come from the same general location in evolution. Not the exact address - but near enough to have acquired the same basic desires to - eat - sleep & be safe - and procreate.

It's in the DNA. The constant assessment of the opposite sex to determine or predict long-term survival. And monogomy is the exception, not the rule - in the animal and mammal kingdoms. Males are always searching even when this part of their life is well situated.

Are they always "on the hunt" no, not in my opinion. I constantly scan other things as well, cars as an example, and I am not constantly looking for something new. It also speaks to interest and fascinatioin with the outer world.

Men are different, but why? Evolution has hardwired us to do certain things even when those needs are resolved for the mnost part. Perhaps like cats who hunt and chase and at times kill, when their food bowls are filled every day and hunger is no longer a concern. Maybe in preparation for a future time when things may not be so certain.

Most men distance themselves from this urge and don't react to it. Others, not so much. This may speak to our 50% divorce rate.

Woman have their own versions of this as well. Would make an interesting article. Hint-hint.
