I just read the other comment as I started to write mine. I understand that sentiment. We have a sufficient amount of greed and fanatical Christians to last several lifetimes.
But let's face it - we don't have too many tools in the toolbox that people are familiar with. Personally, I think socialism has a great deal more potential than capitalism. When the top two billionaires in American own more wealth than what is it - 60-70% of Americans combined - then that system is effectively broken. So we need to put a few more tools in that box. Add a few more options that poeple can choose from and begin to create something better.
I appreciate Mr. Walesa's wisdom, but do not have his faith in religions. I like religion as a subject. I love many of the churches I've been in. It's just the people within the religion that I have a problem with. They are as unreliable as politicians. What they place their faith in is all too oftern self-serving.
But anyway, enjoyed your piece.
