It seldom is … once we’re down that road. Back in the day, I knew men who would religiously turn in their cars every 2–3 years for a new one. Start the whole cycle all over again. We develop habits that become part of our life. Then they surreptitiously move to the head of the line and become what we chase. But it can change, it needs to.

The part that scares me a little is that if we went back to Roman times and Feudal times and somewhere in Europe circa 1750 — the top 1% would own the same percentage of wealth. Times and technology march on endlessly — but “human nature” considered to be in our charge — seems to operate outside of our control at times. That needs to change.
