It's been said, perhaps not nearly enough, that we all come from the same place. The same roots for all mankind, somewhere in beautiful Africa - because it was bountiful. Because it made sense.

And all of us branched out and sought our own destines or simply our own survival and found new lands. New environs to flourish in. And over the millennia we changed. Our hair grew straighter and lighter, our skin turned pale as it reflected off the fallen snow and we kept changing. Kept moving and eventually came back around and started meeting those we left behind so long ago.

And for some unknown daft reason we began to argue and judge and compare - like toddlers at a f**king joint Christmas party - and found flaws in what was our same history.

God, this shit has got to stop. The antidote to insanity and racism is - reason. Is the contemplation of optimum survival among all of us and the courage to begin the dialogue, set aside the biases lurking in dark corners and talk.

Thanks for a great article, Steve!
