I've been a big fan of Bukowski for a while now. Have a book of his poems on my shelf and read them whenever I need to be jolted back to reality. Like a defibrillator - they put me back in place, with my perspective, my way of looking at life.

Some of his stuff goes down hard, like bad whiskey. But most of it - though not exactly smooth - makes it all the way to a place that needs a bit of human warmth.

I find my writing often comes at people from an oblique angle - not usual, not normal, mostly because I'm not normal. 😁. So when I read Bukowski I can relax a little, let the muscles in my neck have a break, and just let the words do what they were meant to do - be felt.

Cheers on a good piece, Linda. 👍💚
