Loved reading this Desiree. I must confess, I have been railing against the onslaught of self-help people and product, on Medium, the TV and elsewhere. Just ask my wife. 😁

I am all about change and enlightenment - but this all takes effort. One must do the looking and listening and reading in order to grow. Sipping small measures of "self-help" from an article - six times removed from the original content - is like sipping coffee, six times reheated in a microwave. Yum!

All the hard won nutrients, flavors and reasons for sipping it in the first place are gone. Just empty calories left.

When I walked to school as a five-year-old, I didn't just look for cars, I looked for people -- to observe. To understand and replicate somehow. I was curious. I still am.

There is wisdom all around us. Stroke your cat, give love and you'll get much more in return. Watch the birds fly overhead - you'll soon think of ten things unrelated to flight that will help you with your day.

Wisdom is coursing through the universe, like blood through our bodies. We just need to stop, accept that it's there - and for us - and just take it in.

We know much more than we think we know. Relying on others too often - hinders growth.

Love your words! 😊
