Medium reminds of Lewis Carroll's story about searching for the Snark. It's never found, nor is anyone even sure it exists.

Medium is searching for solutions but no one knows what the problem is. The greater the clarity they profess with their changes, the greater the thumping in my head. The new stats page makes understanding views and reads more complicated. Makes confirming earning more difficult and I think that is the end game here. Medium needs to make more money but for some reason doesn't want to come out and say that and just raise the membership fee. They call it Friends of Medium at $150 and that we'll all earn more. But it's more per read. I don't know where my reads are coming from, just know they are dropping. My stories seem live for 24 hours then views, reads and everything else goes quiet. Why would I pay 3X as much when I'm certain my reads are disappearing.
