Mr. Trump is a lit match resting in a pile of straw. A conflagration of one size or another is going to happen, it’s only a matter of time. The kerfuffle surrounding his medical visit is just another opportunity to lay blame, misdirect attention, call foul, on and on. This type of thing only sparks to life because Mr. Trump is right there blowing hard on it. Normally this would have been a simple press release, end of scene. But he needed to call out the liars and fake news one more time. So yes, that’s when it becomes an issue.
And also, yes, to there being a different standard in regards to woman politicians. Judging by the faces I see here, I am older than most, so have lived through the stereotypes, double-standards and misogynistic leanings of the male-dominated media and political arena for over 50 years. Hyperbole? I think not.
Clinton had an issue with emails. Trump had an issue with, well, just about everything. Sexism, financial irregularities, misstatements, misdeeds, Miss America, you name it. So I don’t believe Ms. Valenti took any literary license in writing what she did. Her opinion though. Shared by some, not by others. Part of what Medium is all about. A platform to agree and disagree with respect.
