Very true. But as you point out, the gut may be right, but the person whose gut it is, needs to think it through and state why. This type of discipline can be very effective if used.

If people are trained early on in a process that gives responsibility and accountability to them, then this will work. Too many workers, live outside the job. In other words their job may equate to 30 % of their life's time, but only 10% of their interest. The rest being outside family, hobbies, etc. Work shouldn't dominate their lives, but it should take up the right amount of time and attention.
