Nah, not the stupidest post. Just Bernie being Bernie. In negotiation you ask for $50K a year and 4 weeks vacation and settle for $45K and 3 weeks. That's what he's doing. GETTING people's attention.
The stupid posts are mostly about capitalists. Bezos buying a $1.2B yacht and "needing" a second one to follow - to carry extra stuff, like a helicopter and slippers for the guests.
I've worked 100 hours a week - regret it now. 70% of it was wasted effort. Needless reports, conversations and such about nothing important. Half the time I was too tired to think clearly - how effective was I?
Look around - our current definition of efficiency is lacking. We spend 25% of our "work week" not working. Getting a drink, getting some air, trying to decompress from a 3 hour meeting that accomplished nothing that a one-page memo couldn't handle. 32 hours is probably about right. I'd rather work three 12-hour days neatly structured.
And no, sorry Alexei, we don't know how socialism worked out. It's a work in progress. Capitalism on the other hand - yeah we know a LOT about that. Saying the top 1% owns 90% of wealth isn't a socialist lamenting - it's math. I live in LA - what am I supposed to think when I see someone driving a car that costs as much as 4 new homes in Kansas?
Socialism may not be THE solution but hey, it's in the running. Capitalism works real well, for some - for most of us - we provided the hard work and long hours that the 1% need to acquire wealth.
Next time you read about someone paying $45,000 for a purse think about how great this system is.
