Nixon was smart and politically savvy and actually capable of doing a good job. His inner demons and insecurities got the better of him and he turned himself into a criminal by breaking laws. He didn’t need to.

Trump actually does need to, because he’s actually not very bright. He doesn’t possess the mental bandwidth to be president. He’s more lizard brain. By that I mean, he acts instinctually and you can’t totally fault him for being able to read man’s baser attributes so well. This is how he “succeeds.”

The early 1930s is where he lives. That time of transition where fascism seamlessly became a workable form of government across the globe. It’s no coincidence with what’s happening in present time. When society moves away from individual rights and lumps it all in with Nationalism, and MAGA and other ways of wording it, we ended up looking like and sounding like what we’re hearing now. Creepy.
