Over the years I've done a very informal survey of people regarding the subject of death.
Those that believed in God fell into one category; they generally believed in heaven but were genuinely worried about ever getting there and were equally baffled about what they needed to do to enter. Those that did not believe in a God believed that life ended in a Fade to Black and that was it. So, no need to worry too much about what led up to it. The third group generally believed in multiple lives and would have another go of it, so were mostly concerned about doing the right things in this one, lest they come back as a banana slug or warthog. I'm in the last category though I also believe in a God-like essence. A collective soul if you will - the Universe - and we should respect everyone as part of our greater family. Do Pets believe in the same thing? I think they do. My cat Sarafina was the wisest being I'd ever met and the most intuitive. Hard for me to believe she was oblivious to all of this. No, it just doesn't work for me. I truly hope to see her again. 🧡
