People are ultimately influenced by what WE believe to be true, not by what others say or do. If someone, in anger or jealousy, calls us an inconsiderate shit, it’s ultimately our decision to accept or reject their statement.

However, in today’s world we are suffering from ‘too much.’ Too much noise, too much inane communication, too much false data, too much greed, too much hate, on and on. The spirit can only take so much before it begins shutting done, or becomes so corrupted it can no longer function properly.

If we are feeling isolated, alone and at war, then there is a reason. In other words, it’s not a coincidence that the world appears to be going to hell. That perception is being actively created. So you’re right, things are bad. But not because so many people are.

There are over 7 billion humans on this planet. It is statistically impossible that we can or will be able to communicate to even a fraction of this number in our lifetime. So we cannot learn first hand what they really think, what they actually feel, what they believe to be true. Instead to we digest endless bits and bytes of information, carefully prepared videos, proven facts, absolute truths and things we all must know to survive. All this craps, mixed in with some actual truths, makes interactive life feel very untenable. I believe this feeling to be false. I struggle with it every day nonetheless, but I know most of what I see and hear is false or like our corn and wheat, so bloody modified that no one can tell what it originally was.

I have to hope in the goodness of others, even when it’s difficult to see through the tears.
