Periodically I come across racism in its more "subtle" forms. As an example, an old British war drama called, The Dam Busters, had a key character in it in possession of a dog, maybe a black Lab called - N-word. The movie was made in early to mid 1950s, so should know better right. But there it was.

Christie and many other creatives were of their times - which generally translates into - they did and said and portrayed like those around them. Making waves in Hollywood - even back then - was "at your own risk." So most didn't.

As far as selective cancel culture - nothing new there. Behind all questionable conduct and the selective enforcement of rules is and always will be - money.

Should she be blacklisted? No, not ever. We need every book on the shelf, even ther ones we'll never read. Once one is pulled, the others will soon follow.
