I agree with all your points, Rebecca. One of the “hidden” dangers of social media in my opinion is that we’re under the misconception that we use it. I tend to think it uses us, all too often. So much of what happens today on social media platforms happened in the past without them. So, what does it really bring to our lives? And I’m not saying — All bad. Because I think a lot of it is fun and cute and interesting. But a lot of it isn’t. It’s there to change minds, alter outlooks, foster discontent, and so on. All of which is a little creepy.

AI is designed to do specific things — like give us more of what it thinks we need. There is no benevolent AI — as it doesn’t exist outside the efforts of those who program it. That is another area that worries me.

I like humans and actually trust them. AI, though made by humans, seems different somehow.
