You did make your point — that the system is broken, incomplete, inconsistent… it’s all of these. But it’s what we have, until it is fixed.

Even though well-written and very well documented — like a number of others I read recently — what comes through is dissatisfaction, discontent and disinterest in the process — at least as I see it (and I did go back and read it again) and I find that disconcerting.

If you’re racing down the road — just ahead of a rampaging lahar — you don’t argue about the maintenance of the car and threaten to get off. You push the vehicle until safely past the danger — then look to change it.
