Sigh …. our government can somehow manage to lose millions playing poker with toothpicks.

In a court of law, if anyone was found to have influenced the outcome of a trial, they would be charged with a felony. But with Congress, thousands of lobbyists descend upon Washington every session and directly influence the enactment of those same laws that juries are then supposed to uphold.

Every aspect of US laws is touched by money. We put criminals in prison for fixing a verdict. We pay lobbyists $millions to do the same.

Go figure.
