Thank you. My first insight into commodities hit me where it hurt — coffee. This was 1973 and Brazil apparently had a terrible harvest so coffee prices went up over $1 per can — that’s a lot in 1973 coins. But interestingly enough — the supply never stopped coming. The shelves were full — didn’t have to drink tea. The same thing happened with sugar that year — coffee then sugar — somebody was messing with coffee drinkers worldwide. 😁
Same result, plenty of sugar, just 50% more expensive.
