That last bit you wrote about doing things together - that's what we all want. The "we" being those of us that are still part of the social cohort. The together is better than apart crowd who think that - not because of low self-esteem but because it f**king works when you get it right. Loving and being loved is basic. I mean primordial basic. Somewhere along the line we elevated it to supreme status, Major League action only, the C-Suite. No. It's part of the survival imperative - like food, water and a big stick. The crazy part, the part that sends us careening into one sexual partner after another, that's a broken DNA strand. A bug on the motherboard. A glitch - ignore it. Loving yourself is even more primordial. That's what got all the cells to stick together in the first place to become something we could actually see. Then came the good stuff. The touching.
