The "American Dream" was a transitional phrase used in early 20th century to describe what most people wanted. Security: a good job, a roof over their head, food on the table. People in NYC used to walk past mansions near Central Park on their way to their tenement homes. They wanted a piece of that. But the same thing that caused that reality gap 100 years ago (Greed) is causing the crisis today. Equity funds buying hundreds of thousand of homes and turning them into rental units. Foreign funds doing the same. Van-living? That was being done in the 1960s in VW buses. It's a reaction for sure, but where is it heading? Corporations raise prices for profit not to adjust to supply chain shortages - geez the list goes on. America is a damn good country - that's just too busy making it hard for others to see it that way. Good article, George
