The human mind is indexed - not always correctly - but it's all there. We remember that scoop of ice cream falling off the top of our cone when we were four. We also archive emotions and every sense experienced at any given moment. When something triggers - our past can be brought up unbeknownst and there we are crying, for "no good reason at all," while our feet dangle in the swimming pool.

I like your approach Doc, confronting the "offending" emotions and bringing reason into play.

I will try doing that now, as I am having an emotional struggle with a family member and a whole freight train of past emotions and anxiety seems hitched to it.
