This article and its subject reminds me of the tale of the scorpion and the frog.

For those not familiar: The scorpion asks the frog for a ride across the pond, being that he can't swim. They set off uneventfully, chatting and passing the time, when suddenly, midway across, the scorpion stings the frog - thus dooming both of them. The frog shouts - Why! The scorpion shrugs and says - I'm a scorpion, it's what I do.

I think anyone who believes that an open marriage is a solution to whatever problem or urge they are trying to resolve is ignoring one glaring fact - they're humans. And they are dealing with the subject of sex and intimacy and commitment. Otherwise "normal" well-adjusted couples, trying to make marriage work have failed at an alarming rate in the past. And yet this bracket believes entering into the mix, 5-10-15 other sexual partners and 10X the reasons to get upset at one another, will not adversely impact their lives and relationship.

I'm sorry but this is their libido talking and nothing more.

It's a nice notion to believe that we as a species are enlightened enough to withstand this degree of canubial stress, but let's get real. We get freaked out when our neighbors don't hide their garabage bins well enough and we think letting our husband go over there every other Saturady to schtup the neighbor's wife will be okay - dream on.

In this example the wife getting angry for outing them and the husband getting angry at her for not backing him up is EXACTLY the kind of shit that one should expect on a regular basis. Welcome to the human race!
